Shiny Things & Nordstrom Love

If you've been to the mall (or on the internet, really) within the past month or so, you probably will have noticed a huge increase in shiny things making the rounds. It would seem that iridescent and pearlized accessories are going to be major this spring. To my fellow fashion magpies - THIS IS NOT A DRILL! I repeat: THIS IS NOT A DRILL!

Fair warning that this post may contain a gross amount of fawning over Nordstrom, which recently opened in Ottawa. They're not paying me for this, I'm just incredibly obsessed with the store. It's intense. #fashiongirlproblems

A recent stroll through Nordstrom led me to the handbags, where both Rebecca Minkoff and Loeffler Randall proceeded to taunt and torture me with their iridescent bags. I must have stood in front of those LR bags for ages, just staring at their beauty. I'll be honest with you though: as much as I love looking at these bags, I don't think I would ever buy one at this price point ($300+). First of all, while I take good care of my bags, I am the kind of person who wears the same bag over and over again (see: Alexander Wang Rocco). While the leather quality was fine, especially on the Loeffler Randall bags, these poor beauties would not survive my rigorous wear. Second of all, well, they're a tad too trendy to shell out that kind of cash. I'm currently looking for a less expensive alternative, but I fear for this particular trend, quality does come with a price...

Enter a more practical option to express my love for everything shiny: the iridescent double-pearl earring from BaubleBar, which is also sold at Nordstorm (YAAASSSSS)!

You all know I love the double pearl trend and have quite a few pairs already, but this pair just hit it out of the park for me. Classic pearl with a twist - does it get any better?

So if you're looking for me this spring, I'll just be over here with my fabulous earrings, occasionally visiting the shiny bags at my new mothership that is Nordstrom. I actually love the shapes of those bags, so maybe sometime I will be splurgey and buy a more practical version. A lot of my spring fashion budget and planning is currently centring around whether or not I can get my hands on a Mansur Gavriel bucket bag when they go back on sale this week. Think of me on the 19th...

  3. That LR bag is everything. So cute. I can't wait until Nordstrom opens in Vancouver. Is it as good as the US ones?

Glad I checked out your blog, BTW. It's even better than your Insta, which I love. <3

    1. You're the loveliest, Aleesha! Honestly I had never been to a Nordstrom before this one, so I don't know how it compares. From what I've heard it's pretty much the same though!

Obviously I love your Insta and blog back!

  4. I LOVE THESE BAGS! Definetly going to try and find a similar one :
