This month I added some more touches to my walk-in closet - I finally put up another glass shelf above my Audrey Hepburn print. It was quite the exercise in levels and drills to get this perfectly aligned with the shelf I already had up, but I like to think I'm an old pro at this sort of thing now. Now I have space for my beautiful 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli to be displayed. It had previously been languishing sadly under my bed in its dust bag, as I didn't have anywhere to put it. Now it gets to hang out with its friends Louis, Marc, Michael, Rebecca, and Coach, and all is well.
I also took a little inventory of my fragrance collection, and it really is turning into a true collection. I'm a little bit obsessed with the mini-bottles Sephora puts out as a 250 BI points bonus. I have four of them now and it's pretty much Pokemon at this point - gotta catch em all!
I thought a quick look at my new rain boots was fitting, considering it's now "officially" spring... although it's just barely stopped snowing and we have a long way to go until the real spring arrives. It gets REALLY wet here in the springtime, and it's only practical to wear rainboots most days. I had had a pair of expensive fuschia Hunters but they were problematic from day 1. They made my feet sweat like crazy, and I'm convinced they had a hole or crack or something, because I would go out and not even step in a puddle and my feet would end up damp. Not cool. So I decided enough was enough, and found these Tretorns at Marshalls for only $50. So far so good with these.
As for new products this month, I've done quite a bit of shopping. I completely overhauled my skincare routine on the advice of facialist Caroline Hirons, and while I'm still tweaking the details I'd say it's made quite the difference. I've seen a drastic decrease in zits and breakouts (they still exist though!) and a lot less oil overall. It's been quite the revelation. I have ditched the NUXE cleansing milk seen above in favour of a REN cleansing milk though, as the NUXE one was so overwhelmingly fragranced I couldn't stand to use it.
On the beauty product front, I had been very good at restraining myself... until I got the invite to the 15% off VIB Rouge Spring Social. It's bad luck to turn down 15% off at Sephora, I tell you. Bad luck. I had my makeup done by one of the artists at Sephora and purchased the palette she used - Too Faced's Boudoir Eyes - as well as some other goodies. A haul video showing everything is currently up on my YouTube channel if you'd like to see :)
Ever since I got that glass shelf up in my closet, my Pashli has been seeing quite a bit of action. I had been too afraid to carry it in the dead of winter (as is the case for all of my expensive bags) so I hadn't really carried it a lot since I bought it last fall. The minute the temperature hovered above zero, I pulled this baby out and carried it. It's still as fabulous as I remember, and I still get that giddy feeling when I see it. It's so beautiful that I'm willing to overlook how annoying it is to do up the closure clasp (very annoying, in case that wasn't clear). I'm planning to do a video review on my channel once I've carried it a bit more consistently, so keep an eye out.
Also, printed pants. These are from Vero Moda and I had been obsessed with finding a pair of these that fit properly. Story of my life: fits perfectly in the waist, too tight in legs. Or, legs are perfect, enormous in the waist. These work perfectly. I also just got a pair of floral pants from the Sarah Stevenson for Target collection, and they're an extra small and are perfect. It's kind of a miracle. They also come in black, and I've been a bit of a woman on a mission to find black joggers... so if I come across the SS for Target ones in black in my size, I will certainly pounce.
Well, that was my March in Instagram photos - I also had the flu for a week, but did not document it. That's probably for the best. To see all of my Instagram posts, be sure to follow me @xochloegordon!
